KRAVEN'S LAST HUNT is shockingly dark for a Spider-Man story. JM DeMatteis originally proposed it to DC as a Batman story, but it was rejected. Despite starting out as an enemy of the human race, particularly the United States, in his earliest Golden Age appearances, Namor the Sub-Mariner would join the fight against the Nazis alongside Captain America and the original Human Torch during World War II.
