THE BRIDE OF VENOM (1995-1996)

Eddie Brock's clash with Carnage will catch up with him in ways he doesn't suspect. The fallout from Venom's return to New York results in his ex-wife, Anne Weying, being dragged back into his life as both predator and prey. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a new Sin-Eater in town and Venom has a rematch with the Scarlet Spider in his guise as the new/old Spider-Man...

Venom heads from Chicago to New York to pay Carnage a visit at the Ravencroft Institute over the console game based on his killer exploits. Eddie Brock realises the girl, Kirstin, he shares a coach with is hooking up with a heroin addict and considers saving her instead of facing Carnage. But Cletus Kasady sends his Symbiote through this internet to the maker of his game and murders him, sending his body down to the streets where Eddie stands. Kasady has previously unrevealed hacker skills and uses them to escape his cell. Carnage is loose!

Venom: Carnage Unleashed #2 (tie-in)
Carnage escapes Ravencroft with his psychiatrist, Dr Camille Pazzo, as prisoner and pursued by Venom. Carnage throws Venom into an oncoming train, then heads off to kill the maker of his game.
Venom: Carnage Unleashed #3 (tie-in)
Venom finds Kirstin and asks her for help, only to end up paralysing her ex-junkie boyfriend who, as it turns out, had been trying to reform. Kirstin promises to kill Venom as he heads off to face Carnage who's busy killing all of his game's beta-testers.

Venom: Carnage Unleashed #4 (tie-in)
Carnage coerces Fordham Rhodes into making the new Carnage game live so he can kill all the online players. Venom sends his Symbiote into the internet and the two battle it out online. They return to reality and Venom saves Carnage from a plummet to the streets so he can suffer more later. The comatose Cletus Kasady is taken back to Ravencroft.
Venom: Sinner Takes All #1[1/2]
Fordham Rhodes stands trial on charges of gross negligence for the role he played with the 'Carnage Unleashed' game, but denies all responsibility. The Sin-Eater shows up to make sure he dies before he gets to court, killing his lawyer and attempting to kill the assistant lawyer who so happens to be Anne Weying. Venom turns up to protect his ex-wife from the Sin-Eater while she recovers in hospital, believing him to be the man he originally (wrongly) exposed as the Sin-Eater, Emil Gregg.

Venom: Sinner Takes All #2[1/2]
Venom takes Anne Weying out of the hospital when the Sin-Eater threatens to blow them all up. Taking her to his hideout beneath the city, he relinquishes the Symbiote, allowing it to bond with Anne and heal her wounds. When two crazy people burst in looking for drugs, the Symbiote fully takes hold of Anne, turning her into She-Venom. Meanwhile, Emil Gregg is arrested only to end up being shot by a dead cop's widow.
Venom: Sinner Takes All #3[1/2]
Eddie Brock forces the Symbiote to return to him when She-Venom kills the crazies. She escapes him and returns home where Kirstin's mother is waiting for her. Venom tries to find the Sin-Eater who's been revealed as ex-serviceman Michael Engelschwert who plans on blowing up the New York Stock Exchange...

Venom: Sinner Takes All #4[1/2]
Kirstin's mum holds Anne Weying hostage, using her as bait for Venom so she can have her revenge for crippling her boyfriend, Clive. Venom stops the Sin-Eater from destroying the Stock Exchange, but the killer escapes with a cop as a prisoner. When Sin-Eater hurls the cop from his van, Venom blows the vehicle up with a bazooka.
Venom: Sinner Takes All #5[1/2]
The cop who was 'thrown' from the van turns out to be the disguised Sin-Eater. Eddie reduces the Symbiote when he arrives at Anne's apartment where he's shot by Kirstin's mum. The Symbiote heals him then moves over to Anne, turning her into She-Venom. Her attempt to kill Kirstin's mum is interrupted by the Sin-Eater. Kirstin arrives and throws the Sn-Eater and herself out of the window. Venom saves her, but the Sin-Eater dies. Anne beats Kirstin's mother with a lamp while Venom whines about the pain he brings to people's lives...

Venom: Along Came a Spider #1[1/2]
By the time Eddie Brock remembers to check in on Anne Weying, it's long after the Symbiote invasion in New York (during PLANET OF THE SYMBIOTES) and the police are hoping to use her to track Venom down. He calls her up and showhow gets her at police headquarters. He briefly sends the Symbiote down the phone line to turn her into She-Venom again, creating a direct link between them and making her realise how much Eddie loves her. Hearing about the activity at police HQ, Ben Reilly dons his Spider-Man outfit, but he's too late to stop Venom taking Anne out of the building...
Venom: Along Came a Spider #2[1/2]
During their fight, Venom realises the Spider-Man he's facing used to be the Scarlet Spider and isn't Peter Parker, but that doesn't stop him from trying to kill him. Venom has to leave the scene when the cops use sound against him. Anne is arrested but manages to make a call to Eddie who sends the Symbiote down the phone line to her.

Venom: Along Came a Spider #3[1/2]

Venom: Along Came a Spider #4[1/2]
She-Venom returns the Symbiote to Eddie, instantly healing him. LD-50's men come out, guns blazing. MARVEL MONSTERS (2005)

One of Marvel's fifth-week events from 2005 centred around the classic Marvel Monsters that would invade the pages of Strange Tales , Journey into Mystery , Amazing Adventures , Tales to Astonish and Tales of Suspense every month, before the age of heroes. While it was an okay event at best, the four one-shots finally established that those behemoths from outer space and other dimensions did actually inhabit the Marvel Universe ! The highlight is the Hulk 's clash with Devil Dinosaur (a character who was first introduced in the 1970s), but we also found out what some of these creatures had been up to since their early '60 debuts, an untold tale of the time some of the Marvel U's more monstrous heroes gathered to fight them and, finally, the introduction of the  Fin Fang Four ! The featured stories aren't connected and most issues also featured reprints of classic Marvel Monster tales. Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur #1 [1/2] Marvel Monsters: Monsters on the Prow...

WHEN MUTANTS CLASH (1967-1968)

When Captain America leaves Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers start to come apart at the seams. If that wasn't enough, two former-members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants - Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch - are about to leave the Avengers in favour of rejoining their old boss, Magneto . Will there even be a team left? Perhaps they could consider a new member like Dane Whitman -  a guy who can't make up his mind if he's a forward-thinking or an old-school Black Knight .  Magneto has plan to keep an eye on the shipping news and raid boats that pass his mid-Atlantic island base to help finish off his machine that will turn humanity into his mindless slaves. Will the Avengers and the X-Men be too busy fighting each other to thwart this bizarre scheme?
