BINARY READING ORDER: Carol Danvers (1982-1998)

Having lost her Ms Marvel powers and most of her memories and emotions to Rogue of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Carol Danvers is trying to figure out her place in this world. But the alien Brood are about to reveal that her destiny as a costumed adventurer are far from over...

This is the full reading order for Carol Danvers' stint as Binary. I'll be following it up (fairly quickly, I hope) with reading orders for her time as Warbird, her second stint as Ms Marvel and finishing with her transformation into Captain Marvel!

As always, I'd like to thank the guys over at the Marvel Chronology Project which I use as a basis and then work out my own version of the Marvel Universe continuity. Those guys have done all the heavy lifting for me!

MCG Note:
  • Issues in blue are worth reading, are major chapters in Carol's life or may play a key part in the great Marvel tapestry.
  • Issues in grey are part of Carol's chronology, stories of note that aren't essential or are no longer considered 'required reading'.

MARVEL MONSTERS (2005)

One of Marvel's fifth-week events from 2005 centred around the classic Marvel Monsters that would invade the pages of Strange Tales , Journey into Mystery , Amazing Adventures , Tales to Astonish and Tales of Suspense every month, before the age of heroes. While it was an okay event at best, the four one-shots finally established that those behemoths from outer space and other dimensions did actually inhabit the Marvel Universe ! The highlight is the Hulk 's clash with Devil Dinosaur (a character who was first introduced in the 1970s), but we also found out what some of these creatures had been up to since their early '60 debuts, an untold tale of the time some of the Marvel U's more monstrous heroes gathered to fight them and, finally, the introduction of the  Fin Fang Four ! The featured stories aren't connected and most issues also featured reprints of classic Marvel Monster tales. Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur #1 [1/2] Marvel Monsters: Monsters on the Prow...

MYS-TECH WARS (1993)

Everyone knows corporations are evil. Every single one of them. Mys-Tech are no exception. Especially as their board made a deal with Mephisto for power and immortality in exchange for the funnelling of souls straight into his dimension way back in 987AD. The deal's done alright for them over the years, but now they want out... In recent weeks, the London-based chemical company has made a number of super-powered enemies whose origins tie directly into their own magickal activities. Now all of those new foes - from the UK-based Dark Ange l, Motormouth , Killpower and the Knights of Pendragon to the time-travelling Death's Head - are about to come after them all at once. And they're bringing the Avengers , X-Men and more! Mys-Tech are growing a perfect replica of the real planet Earth called the UnEarth.
