This is the full reading order for Carol Danvers' first stint as Ms Marvel. I'll be following it up (fairly quickly, I hope) with reading orders for her time as Binary, Warbird, her second stint as Ms Marvel and finishing with her transformation into Captain Marvel!

Carol joins Logan and hotshot pilot Ben Grimm on a secret mission to look into the latest activities of the Russian Secret Service, clashing with their top agent, Natasha Romanova, during BEFORE THE FANTASTIC FOUR.
Captain Marvel #1 (1968)
First appearance of Carol Danvers; Carol meets 'Dr Walter Lawson' on his first day at the secret NASA compound, the Cape, where she's Security Chief; she's completely unaware that the real Walter Lawson is dead and this man, Mar-Vell of the alien Kree, is on Earth to follow the Supreme Intelligence's complex plan; Carol first sees Mar-Vell in action against a Kree Sentry and believes him to be a hero when he's dubbed 'Captain Marvel' during THE COMING OF CAPTAIN MARVEL.
Captain Marvel #2-9 (1968-1969)
Carol Danvers gets drawn further into Captain Marvel's conflict with the Kree who betrayed him; Captain Marvel rescues Carol when she's kidnapped by the Organisation's Cyberex robot.
Captain Marvel #10-13 (1969)
Carol begins to fall in love with Captain Marvel who saves her from the Organisation and the Mad Thinker's Man-Slayer during THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK.
Captain Marvel #14 (1969)
Carol is left hospitalised when a mind-controlled Iron Man attacks the Cape during THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK / LIKE A DEATH RAY FROM THE SKY.
Captain Marvel #16 (1969)
Carol Danvers regains consciousness and immediately goes on the run when FBI agents arrive to ask her questions about Dr Walter Lawson.
Captain Marvel #18 (1969)
Mar-Vell's nemesis, Yon-Rogg, takes Carol Danvers captive; Captain Marvel's rescue attempt ends with her exposed to the exploding Psyche-Magnitron during THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK.
Avengers #90 (1971)
The Avengers report the capture of Captain Marvel by a Kree Sentry to Carol Danvers during THE KREE-SKRULL WAR.
Captain Marvel #34-35 (1974)
Carol Danvers' new job as head of security at an Air-Force base comes under threat when their prisoner, Nitro, breaks out, almost killing her.
Captain Marvel #40 (1975)
Carol is visited by Captain Marvel who wants to say goodbye before he leaves Earth.
First appearance of Carol Danvers as Ms Marvel; Carol takes a new job at the Daily Bugle as the Editor of Woman Magazine; Carol is initially unaware that the blackouts she's been experiencing are the moments when she unknowingly becomes new hero Ms Marvel; after battling the Scorpion, Destructor and the Doomsday Man, Carol learns that the Psyche-Magnitron explosion gave her half-Kree superhuman physiology.

Ms Marvel's efforts to shut down MODOK's plan to take over a space station brings her into conflict with the Vision, Grotesk, Deathbird and MODOK himself who tries to brainwash her into falling in love with him during THE DOOMSDAY CONNECTION.

Defenders #62-63 (1978)
Ms Marvel and Captain Marvel are among the many 'Defenders-for-a-Day' who take on a team of villainous Defenders; Ms Marvel decides to pursue Avengers membership, rather than deal with the chaotic lives of the Defenders.
Lengthy flashbacks reveal how Jewel (Jessica Jones) attacked the Avengers and Ms Marvel while under the control of the Purple Man. This one's for mature readers!

Henry Peter Gyrich orders the Avengers to drop their membership from the veritable army they have following the defeat of Korvac to just seven members; Ms Marvel doesn't make the cut, but she does get to help Vance Astro of the Guardians of the Galaxy defeat the mysterious Faceless One during ON THE MATTER OF HEROES.
Ms Marvel gets a second chance to join Earth's Mightiest Heroes when the Scarlet Witch leaves the team; the Absorbing Man is the first foe Ms Marvel fights as an Avenger.

The New Warriors bounce through the Avengers's battle with the Absorbing Man on their trip through time!
Avengers #184-185 (1979)
The Absorbing Man escapes the Avengers.
The Thing hosts the first ever Floating Super-Hero Poker Game and invites Ms Marvel, Wonder Man, Beast, Blake Tower, Edwin Jarvis and Nick Fury to play; the game is interrupted when General Jacob Pollock attacks the SHIELD Helicarrier.
Marvel Super-Heroes Summer Special #10[3/3] (1992)
The final story from Ms Marvel's cancelled series finally sees print in this issue; Ms Marvel chases down Sabretooth when he escapes SHIELD custody.
Marvel Super-Heroes Fall Special #11[3/3] (pp.1-25) (1992)
The final previously unpublished Ms Marvel story with additional pages of story; Ms Marvel and Iron Man investigate Michael Barnett's murder at the hands of Mystique brings her into conflict with the Hellfire Club and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Ms Marvel makes a cameo appearance when Tony Stark receives hand-to-hand combat training from Captain America at Avengers Mansion.
Captain America #237 (1979)
Ms Marvel is among the Avengers searching for Captain America when the Falcon declares him missing.
The Avengers free the Scarlet Witch from Modred the Mystic and Chthon and tackle the Elements of Doom.
Avengers #190-191 (1979-1980)
Ms Marvel meets Daredevil when the Avengers battle the Grey Gargoyle.
Avengers #192-193 (1980)
The Avengers vs Inferno during STEEL CITY NIGHTMARE.
Ms Marvel helps the Avengers defeat Taskmaster before leaving the team; Ms Marvel goes through a full pregnancy in two days and gives birth to Marcus Immortus, the son of Immortus; grown immediately to adulthood, Marcus explains that he took Ms Marvel to the future and impregnated her with himself so that he could leave Limbo; realising he's dying outside of Limbo, Ms Marvel agrees to accompany Marcus Immortus back there. Despite knowing she was manipulated, the Avengers just let her go!

Mystique learns Ms Marvel is back in San Fransisco and sends Rogue after her.

Rogue steals Ms Marvel's powers and personality in a vicious attack; Spider-Woman confronts the Avengers over letting Ms Marvel go with Marcus Immortus; the powerless Carol Danvers goes to stay with the X-Men during AND THE DEAD SHALL BURY THE LIVING.
