MAYHEM ON THE MOON (1990)

Bit of an obscure and slightly tenuous link between two issues, I'll admit, but another little-known pseudo-crossover happened right in the middle of the ACTS OF VENGEANCE. Quasar's battle with the Living Laser ends up inadvertently spilling over into another universe. Not that the X-Men of Earth-105709 aren't grateful...
[SECOND GENESIS - origin of the all-new, all-different X-Men]
Quasar #6
Quasar easily apprehends Venom, reducing the number of suspects who might murder his cosmic boss, Eon, by one more. He receives another emergency Avengers call to apprehend Klaw in Missouri. Klaw's been assigned to attract the attention of a different foe (as part of the ACTS OF VENGEANCE), but is quickly contained by Quasar. Living Laser comes to free Klaw and succeeds, but suddenly gets pulled up to the moon. He escapes Quasar through one of Uatu the Watcher's viewing portals to an alternate universe. The Red Ghost was trying to steal from the Watcher, only for Quasars interference to draw attention to him. Quasar is able to apprehend him after barely surviving their fight.

What If? #9[1/2]
On Earth-105709, the all-new, all-different X-Men's first mission ended in tragedy when the whole team and the original line-up were drawn up into space along with Krakoa. Beast quits the Avengers and summons geneticist Moira MacTaggart - and her new ward, Rahne Sinclair - to play house-keeper and the Xavier School for Gifted Youngers. Weeks later, Count Nefaria and his Ani-Men threaten to use NORAD to incite nuclear war if the world doesn't pay his ransom. Professor X refuses to help, so Beast forms a new team of X-Men with the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Banshee (Theresa Cassidy), James Proudstar and Namorita. Rahne joins the fray when Professor X kickstarts her mutant powers and gets back in the game. The Ani-Men are defeated and a random laser blows up the jet carrying Count Nefaria. Beast leads Namorita, Banshee, Thunderbird (James Proudstar) and Wolfsbane into future battles as the X-Men.

Avengers: Death Trap - The Vault (1991)
Venom is revealed to have been returned to the Vault.

New Mutants #100 (1991)
James Proudstar of Earth-616 puts his issues with X-teams aside enough to join Cable's X-Force as Warpath during A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH.

Iron Man #258 (1990)
The Living Laser is revealed to be back on Earth-616.

Fantastic Four Annual #24 (1991)
Klaw reveals how AIM found him after he was dropped to Earth by the Living Laser; while unconscious, AIM upgraded Klaw's sound weapon.

Quasar #23 (1991)
Quasar fails to protect Eon from his predicted murder; Eon is killed by Maelstrom.

Quasar #30 (1992)
Uatu the Watcher reveals how the Living Laser escaped to Earth-105709 and bounced around realities before returning to Earth-616; the Living Laser's journey creates multiple divergent Living Lasers that Quasar has to recapture on Uatu's behalf.

X-Force #31 (1994)
Having fallen for Siryn (Theresa Cassidy) while they serve with X-Force, Warpath helps her overcome her alcoholism.

X-Men: Deadly Genesis #1-6 (2006)
It's revealed that the 'all-new, all-different' X-Men of Earth-616 were the second team sent to rescue the originals from Krakoa; Professor X sent a new team of X-Men trained by Moira MacTaggart - consisting of Kid Vulcan, Petra, Sway and Darwin - to rescue the original five, only for them to be consumed by Krakoa and taken up into space when Krakoa was launched into the atmosphere; Darwin and Vulcan are reawoken, though the experience drives Vulcan to want to kill the X-Men; Vulcan murders Banshee (Sean Cassidy) during DECIMATION / THE RISE OF VULCAN.

Uncanny X-Men #475 (2006)
Warpath finally joins the X-Men during THE RISE OF VULCAN.

X-Factor #200 (2006)
Theresa Cassidy changes her name from Siryn to Banshee when she finally accepts her father's death.

MARVEL MONSTERS (2005)

One of Marvel's fifth-week events from 2005 centred around the classic Marvel Monsters that would invade the pages of Strange Tales , Journey into Mystery , Amazing Adventures , Tales to Astonish and Tales of Suspense every month, before the age of heroes. While it was an okay event at best, the four one-shots finally established that those behemoths from outer space and other dimensions did actually inhabit the Marvel Universe ! The highlight is the Hulk 's clash with Devil Dinosaur (a character who was first introduced in the 1970s), but we also found out what some of these creatures had been up to since their early '60 debuts, an untold tale of the time some of the Marvel U's more monstrous heroes gathered to fight them and, finally, the introduction of the  Fin Fang Four ! The featured stories aren't connected and most issues also featured reprints of classic Marvel Monster tales. Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur #1 [1/2] Marvel Monsters: Monsters on the Prow...

ISLAND OF THE DAMNED (1972)

It's Halloween, so how's about a little old school werewolf action ?  Around this time, Marvel had a tendency to try new characters out in titles like Marvel Spotlight or Marvel Premiere , then give them their own series if they proved to be popular. However, the characters' first issues often carried on the story from those other books, so you'd pick up issue 1 only to find yourself in the middle of an ongoing tale (for other examples, see Captain Marvel in THE COMING OF CAPTAIN MARVEL or Adam Warlock in COUNT-DOWN FOR COUNTER-EARTH ). In the Werewolf By Night 's case, this little two-parter featuring his search for the Darkhold  would flow from Marvel Spotlight into his very own ongoing series. Jack Russell has only recently discovered his true family legacy and that Phillip Russell , the man he believed to be his father, is actually his uncle. His biological father, Baron Gregory Russoff (Phillip's brother), was a magic user and werewolf. Jack inherite...
